For The History Lover

Fountain of Youth Archeological Park

This historical site is where the Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de Leon came ashore in 1513 during his search for the Fountain of Youth.  The Park offers re-enactments, exhibits about the Spanish settlers and the Timucuan Indians, as well as a planetarium show.  Drink from the Fountain and discover the quest for eternal youth!

Flagler College

Visit the beautiful Spanish inspired Flagler College, formerly the Ponce de Leon Hotel built by railroad tycoon Henry Flagler in the late 1800's.  Take a guided tour through the gorgeous Rotunda and view artistic murals on the ceiling.  You'll get to sit in the Dining Hall, which boasts Tiffany glass windows, the most in any privately owned collection in the world.  The tour ends in the exquisite Flagler Room, where a huge fireplace and Tiffany glass chandeliers embellish the room filled with antiquities and historical artifacts from the hotel.

The Lightner Museum

After visiting Flagler College, stroll across King Street and enter the Lightner Museum, a building filled with vintage artifacts and art work from the late 1800s to the early 1900s.  See an Egyptian mummy, an enormous urn made out of malachite, and learn about the history of the building, which was another of Henry Flagler's hotels, The Hotel Alcazar.  Don't miss the best part of the museum, a 30 minute demonstration in The Music Room, where kids can hear old automated instruments, including a Nickelodeon and an orchestrion.

For The Animal Lover with an option for Thrill Seekers

The Alligator Farm

This awesome zoological park is filled with every single species of crocodilian in the world!  Attend a feeding, learn about reptiles, local birds, and the cutest new exhibit features two (2) two-toed sloths.  For added thrills, upgrade your admission to the Crocodile Crossing Zipline and soar 35 feet above live crocodiles!

Marineland

Travel south along A1A and discover the oldest oceanarium with a dolphin exhibit and local marine life.  General admission gives visitors access to an educational show, but those that want an experience of a lifetime can upgrade to an interactive meeting with beautiful dolphins.  Choose from touch and feed, swimming, or becoming a trainer for a day.

St. Augustine Aquarium

One of the newest attractions in St. Augustine, the St. Augustine Aquarium focuses on hands-on educational learning.  Complete with exhibits, opportunities for touch and feedings, and access to a secluded nature trail, this attraction is sure to be a highlight on your trip.  Enhance your experience even more by upgrading to a scuba diving or zip line activity.
